Yesterday, I spent the majority of the day in Sultanahmet at the Archaeology Museum. In the evening, I walked across the Galata Bridge and then up the winding streets of Karaköy to Galata Tower, and then up Istiklal Caddesi to Taksim. En route, I was struck by several interesting sights, per normal. The first was a group of very talented street musicians:
Next, I ran into a protest. Unfortunately I do not know enough Turkish to understand what these people were protesting, but it was fascinating nonetheless:

To be sure, it was an interesting day in Istanbul, full of the variety and diversity to which I have become so accustomed.
